Faith Formation Overview

Weekly Classes for Grades K-5

Weekly sessions for the elementary grades K through 5 are held on Sunday from 9:00-10:15 am and on Tuesday from 4:30-5:45 pm.

Weekly classes for Grades 6-7-8-9

Weekly sessions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm.

9th grade Respect and Relationships Class

9th graders and any 10th graders who have not completed this requirement are required to take a course on Christian Sexuality teachings in anticipation of preparing for Confirmation in 10th grade. This is a two hour course that will be offered 6 times over the course of the year.


Those preparing for First Eucharist and First Reconciliation will attend a parent and child retreat prior to celebrating each of the sacraments. Dates will be confirmed in late August.

Students in grades 6/7 and 8/9 will participate in a retreat over the course of the Faith Formation year. Those dates will be available in late August.

Confirmation candidates are required to attend a retreat prior to celebrating Confirmation. More information on the Confirmation classes and retreat will be available in August.

Sacramental Preparation

Special family centered programs are provided to prepare children for First Eucharist, First Reconciliation and Confirmation. Parent meetings will be held in September to explain the programs and more information is available on this website by downloading the Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Brochure or contact the Faith Formation Office.

Catechumenate (RCIA)

The Pastor, Deacon and the RCIA Team provides a process for preparing adults for entrance into the Catholic Church. Please contact Fr. Joseph Cebula for more information. He can be reached at (518) 371-9632.

Adult Faith Formation Classes

We will be offering several Adult Faith Formation opportunities at St. Mary’s. More information will be provided in a late summer mailing as well as in the bulletin, on the website and our Facebook page.
