Alzheimer’s Care Team – The Alzheimer’s Care Team provides non-medical support, assistance and friendship to the person with the memory disorder and his/her family. The main goals of this program are to improve the quality of life for the individual who has dementia and decrease caregiver burden. Church Care – A dedicated group of individuals who are committed to the upkeep of the church. This group cleans the church weekly and prepares the sanctuary for the weekend masses. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Mary Grace Johnson at 371-1109.
Divorced/Separated/Widowed – A healing place for divorced, separated and widowed persons meets once a month in conjunction with St. Edward’s Parish. Meetings are the 2nd Saturday of each month at 7:00 pm. Group members seek to support each other through issues of grieving, coping, decision-making and the development of new pathways. Parish Food Pantry – The parish collects food weekly to share with local food pantries. Volunteers bring the food from St. Mary’s Crescent to pantries in need. If interested in volunteering to shuttle the food, please contact Chris Brennan through the parish office at 371-9632.
Works of Mercy Project – In an effort to more actively live these teachings in our parish and to mark our 151st year, we have started the Works of Mercy Project in 2019. We will have a different opportunity to live the Gospel every month or two volunteering at or for different charitable organizations serving people in need in our community. These projects welcome and encourage all ages from children through seniors, families, single people and couples. We all have time and talent to share.
Knitting and Crocheting Group – This committee meets monthly to make items for area Nursing Homes, Hospitals and Community Service Centers. Items created include: prayer shawls, baby blankets and newborn hats among others. They meet once a month, but volunteers can craft throughout! They are always looking for donations of yarn as well. Landscaping and Grounds – Volunteers assist in maintaining the appearance of the church grounds and buildings. Areas of service include gardening and landscaping. If interested in volunteering your time, please contact Ron Sitko at 371-8549.
Money Counters – Volunteers meet weekly in teams (rotating weeks) to prepare the weekend collections for bank deposit. If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please contact Anne Tremblay at 371-3490.
Human Concerns – Organizes the holiday giving tree as well as a spring and fall meal for area shelters. Interested in helping? Contact Carol Smith at 371-4336
Outreach Committee – Members maintain contact with homebound parishioners with cards and seasonal gifts. Contact Jeanne Gracon at 371-9632 for more information.
