A Note From Deacon Andy

My wife Mary, our children Bill, Liz, and Kitty, and I joined the St. Mary’s, Crescent parish community after moving to Clifton Park from Long Island in 2001. The community immediately made us feel welcome.

Since joining the parish, I have served in many ministries and capacities, including Eucharistic Minister, Trustee, Marriage Preparation Team Member (with Mary), and Faith Formation Director. Since 2015, I have also served as Permanent Deacon, actively welcoming parishioners into the Parish through the Sacraments, preaching, and training new altar servers. Since Fr. Joe’s retirement, I have worked closely with Frs. Tom Hayes and David Berberian as they celebrate Mass three times each weekend and on Holy Days. I am most humbled that Bishop Scharfenberger has appointed me as Parish Life Coordinator for the community that has been my spiritual home for so long.

In the coming months, I will ask the congregation to share its input so that we can foster a vision for the parish in light of the Gospel’s call to conversion of heart. I am committed to living by example to nurture a whole Christian life among the faithful and to facilitate the development of a strong faith community.

I ask that you keep me, the staff, and the St. Mary’s Crescent community in your prayers so that we may remain open to the Holy Spirit as our guide.

Yours in Christ,

Deacon Andy
